The power to prevent outrage before it takes hold

What clients love about POPM...

Turning insight into foresight using POPM

Community opposition has cost Australia more than $20 billion in project cancellations and delays since 2009 - we have to do better, and we can, with the assistance of POPM.

POPM uses predictive modelling to identify the level of risk for public outrage on infrastructure projects.  Findings are based on a combination of scoring derived from your project’s profile and modelling drawn from the experiences of other projects impacted by significant community opposition. The result is an objective evidence-based assessment of likelihood and severity of community opposition that may be expected on your project. These insights allow you to mitigate the highest risks with targeted actions confirmed to effectively reduce overall risk.

Testimonials

What people who've tried POPM have to say about this innovation

"We recently trialled POPM on a regional project in WA that has some very complex stakeholder issues and found the process relatively pain-free and very productive. Understanding the project can be reassessed in the future to track community outrage over time and that we have an option to undertake a mitigation assessment to evaluate the change in rating is fantastic news! Overall, I found this to be a very worthwhile piece of work."

Director Project Development

Main Roads Western Australia

"As the importance of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) continues to rise, private and public enterprise needs to be more accountable and auditable. The POPM process is easy to navigate, allowing all disciplines to collectively identify project challenges and produce a cohesive outline and understanding of not just the risks and key issues, but the cost to the project. The outputs provide CEOs with a far more informative report to consider key project decisions along with costs well in advance."

Infrastructure Projects WA

"Having worked on major projects and programs for the past 30 years, in both the UK and Australia, I know stakeholder engagement is one of the most defining aspects of project success. I’ve worked with and known Yolanda Vos for several years and we’ve had numerous deep conversations about the nature of stakeholders and how they can make or break a project. Her ideas, built into the POPM model, provide a better understanding of stakeholder views and how to use this information to drive action and behaviour, which yields the best possible results for projects and for the community."

"As an independent collaborator and consultant on Yolanda’s POPM system, I’ve had the privilege of watching the development of an innovative and rigorous approach to predicting and mitigating public outrage in infrastructure projects. Yolanda’s keen perception, attention to detail, and commitment to ensuring accuracy in risk assessment are impressive. POPM not only provides data-driven insights but also empowers project teams to make informed decisions based on collective experience. This combination of predictive modeling and practical, real-world application makes POPM a game-changing tool for risk management."
